CAMP FREDDY Announce Free Gig In Hollywood
December 20, 2004CAMP FREDDY, the Los Angeles-based "jam" band featuring JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro, former THE CULT touring bassist Billy Morrison (on guitar),ex-JANE'S ADDICTION drummer Stephen Perkins, and vocalist Donovan Leitch (the son of 1960s U.K. folk-rock icon Donovan),will play a free show at the Key Club in West Hollywood, California on Thursday, January 27. "There will be no guest list, and it will be a strictly first-come, first-served basis," reads a posting on the group's web site. "The band will hit the stage at 9:30 p.m. sharp, and anyone arriving late will NOT get in. The band will have their friends get up and jam as usual, and they promise an evening of maximum rock and roll."
CAMP FREDDY entered the studio in January 2004 to begin recording their debut album, tentatively due next year via Sanctuary Records. Guest musicians appearing on the album include former ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell, ex-THE CULT axeman Billy Duffy, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith and singer Macy Gray. At least some of the production duties on the album are being handled by Mike Clink (GUNS N' ROSES, METALLICA).
